Abstract
A measure for objectively assessing the pixel level fusion performance is defined. The proposed metric reflects the quality of visual information obtained from the fusion of input images and can be used to compare the performance of different image fusion algorithms. Experimental results clearly indicate that this metric is perceptually meaningful.

Multimodal medical image fusion using daubechies complex wavelet transform

TL;DR: A new weighted fusion scheme using Daubechies complex wavelet transform (DCxWT) outperforms existing DCxWT, DTCWT, DWT, NSCT and CT based fusion methods.

Multimodal image fusion in Visual Sensor Networks

TL;DR: A novel method for adaptive fusion of multimodal surveillance images, based on Non-Subsampled Contourlet Transform (NSCT), which has an improved performance over Visual Sensor Networks (VSN), and achieves better visual quality and objective metrics than the state-of-art methods.

Pan-sharpening of multi-spectral images using a new variational model

TL;DR: In this article, the geometry, spectrum, and correlation information of the original images were preserved by pan-sharpening, and a variational energy functional was built based on the assumptions, of which the minimizer is the target fused image.

Multisensor image fusion using the wavelet transform

TL;DR: In this article, an image fusion scheme based on the wavelet transform is presented, where wavelet transforms of the input images are appropriately combined, and the new image is obtained by taking the inverse wavelet transformation of the fused wavelet coefficients.

Cross-band pixel selection in multiresolution image fusion

TL;DR: Preliminary subjective image fusion results demonstrate clearly the advantage which the proposed cross-band selection technique offers, when compared to conventional area based pixel selection.
