TLDR
Isotope analyses of Os, Sr, Nd, and Pb elements were caried out on twelve peridotite xenoliths from the Jagersfontein, Letseng-la-terae, Thaba Patsoa, Mothae, and Premier kimberlites of southern Africa, to investigate the timing and the nature of melt extraction from the continental lithosphere and its relation to the continent formation and stabilization.

Early Cretaceous volcanism of the Coastal Ranges, NW Syria: Magma genesis and regional dynamics

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used fractional crystallisation and assimilation-fractional crystallization models to distinguish between the ankaramites and the transitional basalts, based on the petrography and chemistry of the lavas, which can be divided into an ankaramite series and a transitional basalt series.

Pre-emplacement Re-Os ages from ultramafic inclusions in the sublayer of the Sudbury Igneous Complex, Ontario

TL;DR: In this article, a suite of 14 melanorite inclusions from the Sublayer of the Sudbury Igneous Complex (SIC) at Whistle Mine, 30 km NNE of Sudbury, Ontario, Canada.

Laurite and zircon from the Finero chromitites (Italy): New insights into evolution of the subcontinental mantle

TL;DR: In this paper, the mineral chemistry and Os-isotope composition of laurite, including crystal morphology, internal structure, in-situ U-Pb, trace-element and Hf-Isotope data of zircon from two chromitite localities at Alpe Polunia and Rio Creves were evaluated.

On the regional variation of heat flow, geotherms, and lithospheric thickness☆

TL;DR: In this article, Pollack et al. constructed a global map of lithospheric thickness based on the regional variation of surface heat flow, geotherms, and lithosphere thickness, and identified the lid as synonymous with the lithosphere.

The composition and evolution of the continental crust: rare earth element evidence from sedimentary rocks

TL;DR: In this article, a revised andesite model is used to obtain total crustal composition, assuming that the upper crust, one-third of the total, is derived from intracrustal partial melting.
