TLDR
In this article, a survey and analysis of recent work on topological phases with polarization of light is presented, which has revealed several counterintuitive features of such phase shifts such as 2 nπ anholonomies, nonlinear and discontinuous behaviour originating from high singularities, peculiar spectral dependence, etc.

Pancharatnam–Berry phase shaping for control of the transverse enhancement of focusing

TL;DR: Calculations reveal that the transverse enhancement is controllable and depend on the phase index in the PB phase, thereby giving rise to a focus with tunable length and subwavelength width in the focal plane.
Journal ArticleDOI

Transpose symmetry of the Jones matrix and topological phases.

TL;DR: It is proved that the transmission Jones matrix of an arbitrary stack of reciprocal plane-parallel plates that has been turned through 180 degrees about an axis in the plane of the stack is the transpose of the transmission matrix of the unturned slab with a change in the sign of the off-diagonal elements.
Journal ArticleDOI

Quasi binormal Schrodinger evolution of wave polarizatıon field of light wıth repulsive type

TL;DR: In this paper, a geometric interpretation of the quasi binormal evolution of the wave polarization vector via the nonlinear Schrodinger equation of repulsive type in the tangent direction is presented.
Journal ArticleDOI

Dynamics of defects in the vector complex Ginzburg-Landau equation

TL;DR: In this article, a vector complex Ginzburg-Landau (CGL) equation is considered for the case of vector defects and a transition between different regimes of spatiotemporal dynamics is described.
Journal ArticleDOI

Measurement of the Pancharatnam─Berry phase in two-beam interference

TL;DR: In this article, the dynamical phase across the interference pattern can be deciphered from the total phase, thereby leaving only the geometric phase for Young's dual-pinhole interference experiment with arbitrary fully correlated and polarized vector light fields.

Ellipsometry and polarized light

TL;DR: In this article, the polarization of light waves and propagation of polarized light through polarizing optical systems are discussed. But the authors focus on the application of ellipsometry in the field of measurement in ellipsometer systems.
