Polarization of light and topological phases
TLDR
In this article, a survey and analysis of recent work on topological phases with polarization of light is presented, which has revealed several counterintuitive features of such phase shifts such as 2 nπ anholonomies, nonlinear and discontinuous behaviour originating from high singularities, peculiar spectral dependence, etc.About:

Modification of the Doppler effect due to the helicity–rotation coupling
TL;DR: In this article, the authors examined the helicity-rotation coupling and its current empirical basis and the modification of the Doppler effect due to the coupling of photon spin with the rotation of the observer.

Observation of nonadditive mixed state phases with polarized neutrons
Jiirgen Klepp,Stephan Sponar,S. Filipp,Matthias Lettner,Gerald Badurek,Yuji Hasegawa,Yuji Hasegawa +6 more
TL;DR: In a neutron polarimetry experiment the mixed-state relative phases between spin eigenstates are determined from the maxima and minima of measured intensity oscillations, and it is experimentally demonstrated that the sum of the individually determined geometric and dynamical phases is not equal to the associated total phase.

Liquid crystal spatial-mode converters for the orbital angular momentum of light
TL;DR: In this article, a tunable liquid crystal device that converts pure orbital angular momentum eigenmodes of a light beam into equal-weight superpositions of opposite-handed eigen modes and vice versa is presented.

Geometric phase as a determinant of a qubit--- environment coupling
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the qubit geometric phase and its properties in dependence on the mechanism for decoherence of a qubit weakly coupled to its environment, and showed that the geometric phase varies monotonically with respect to the polar angle (in the Bloch sphere representation) parameterizing an initial state of the qu bit.

Ellipsometry and polarized light
TL;DR: In this article, the polarization of light waves and propagation of polarized light through polarizing optical systems are discussed. But the authors focus on the application of ellipsometry in the field of measurement in ellipsometer systems.
