Priming memory invokes seed stress-tolerance

TLDR
A hypothetical model illustrating the cellular physiology of priming-induced stress-tolerance is proposed, likely achieved via two strategies: first, seed priming sets in motion germination-related activities that facilitate the transition of quiescent dry seeds into germinating state and lead to improved germination potential, and secondly, priming imposes abiotic stress on seeds that represses radicle protrusion but stimulates stress responses.

Role of Plant Growth Hormones During Soil Water Deficit: A Review

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the cross-talk mechanism among different growth regulators during tolerance acquisition in a water deficit tolerance mechanism and found that growth regulators play an important role in regulating plant responses to above-mentioned stresses by sensitizing growth and developmental processes.

Impact of halo and hormonal priming on early vegetative growth phase of rice var. MTU 7029.

TL;DR: All the primed seeds were found to perform better as compared to non primed control one and 2.5 ppm kinetin+4 mM magnesium nitrate performed best among all the treatments and all the studied parameters such as shoot and root lengths, root number, fresh and dry weights, proline content, total chlorophyll content and superoxide dismutase activity in 10, 15 and 20 days after sowing.

Spermidine priming promotes germination of deteriorated seeds and reduced salt stressed damage in rice seedlings

TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of Spd priming on normal and deteriorated rice seeds were investigated under salt stress during germination and young seedling stages Rice seeds were primed with H2O and Spd solutions for 24 h before germination All rice seeds are grown in Petri dishes containing 5 ml of deionized water with 0 (control) or 150 mM NaCl (salt treatment) for 1-10 d.
