TLDR
It is demonstrated that the usage of an ultrasound specific similarity measure leads to better results for pairwise registration, and the highest robustness can be achieved by using simultaneous registration with the developed multivariate similarity measures.

Manifold learning for image-based breathing gating in ultrasound and MRI

TL;DR: A novel, purely image-based retrospective respiratory gating method for ultrasound and MRI, using Laplacian eigenmaps, a manifold learning technique, to determine the low-dimensional manifold embedded in the high-dimensional image space.

Real-time image-based rigid registration of three-dimensional ultrasound.

TL;DR: This paper presents a real-time image-based algorithm for rigid registration of 3DUS volumes designed for acquisitions in which small probe displacements occur between frames, which is comparable to similar feature-based registration methods, but in contrast to these methods, can register 3D US volumes in real- time.

Ultrasonic image analysis and image-guided interventions

TL;DR: The article concludes by giving a perspective from clinical cardiology which is one of the most advanced areas of clinical application of US image analysis and describing some probable future trends in this important area of ultrasonic imaging research.

Hybrid Feature-Based Diffeomorphic Registration for Tumor Tracking in 2-D Liver Ultrasound Images

TL;DR: A novel diffeomorphic registration technique for tumor tracking in series of 2-D liver ultrasound, which ensures the invertibility of deformations and the suitability of the method for the application at hand.

From Intrinsic Optimization to Iterated Extended Kalman Filtering on Lie Groups

TL;DR: The proposed filter generalizes the Euclidean Iterated Extended Kalman Filter to the case where both the state and the measurements evolve on Lie groups, and bridges the gap between the minimization of intrinsic non-linear least squares criteria and filtering onLie groups.

Probability, random variables, and stochastic processes

TL;DR: In this paper, the meaning of probability and random variables are discussed, as well as the axioms of probability, and the concept of a random variable and repeated trials are discussed.

Random variables and stochastic processes

TL;DR: An electromagnetic pulse counter having successively operable, contact-operating armatures that are movable to a rest position, an intermediate position and an active position between the main pole and the secondary pole of a magnetic circuit.
