Integrating remote sensing and a process-based hydrological model to evaluate water use and productivity in a south Indian catchment

TL;DR: In this article, the authors combined remote sensing and a distributed hydrological model to evaluate water use and crop water productivity in the Upper Bhima catchment in southern India using an innovative integration of remotely sensed evapotranspiration and a process-based hydrologogical model, which demonstrated the improved understanding of the entire water balance in an area where data are scarcely available.

TL;DR: In this article, an analysis was conducted of almost 5000 operational seasonal streamflow forecast errors across the western United States These forecasts are for 29 unregulated rivers with diversity in geography and climate Deterministic evaluations revealed strong correspondence between observations and forecasts issued 1 April Forecasts issued earlier in the season were more uncertain yet remained skillful.

Hydrologic extremes – an intercomparison of multiple gridded statistical downscaling methods

TL;DR: In this article, the ability of gridded downscaling models to replicate historical properties of climate and hydrologic extremes, as measured in terms of temporal sequencing and distributional properties (i.e., correlation tests) and test results from seven downscaled methods were used to drive the Variable Infiltration Capacity (VIC) model over the snow-dominated Peace River basin, British Columbia.
