Separation of acidic phospholipids by one-dimensional thin-layer chromatography.

TLDR
Three one-dimensional thin-layer Chromatographie systems for separation of acidic phospholipids such as cardiolipin, phosphatidic acid, ceramidemonohexosides, sulfatides and ceramidedihexoside (overlapping) are described and demonstrated on total lipid extracts from animal tissues.

Apparent Turnover of Mitochondrial Deoxyribonucleic Acid and Mitochondrial Phospholipids in the Tissues of the Rat

TL;DR: The apparent turnovers of mitochondrial DNA and of the phospholipids, cardiolipin, lecithin, and phosphatidyl ethanolamine, have been determined simultaneously in the mitochondria of rat liver, kidney, brain, and heart.

Analysis of brain lipids by high performance thin-layer chromatography and densitometry.

TL;DR: A high performance thin-layer chromatography densitometry method to resolve the major lipid classes of brain tissue and found the cupric acetate charring reagent to be more sensitive than the conventional sulfuric acid-dichromate reagent.

Lipid analysis by thin-layer chromatography-A review of the current state

TL;DR: The combination betweenHPTLC and mass spectrometric (MS) detection methods will be discussed and it will be shown that this is a very powerful method to investigate the identities of the HPTLC spots in more detail than by the use of common staining methods.

Preparation of lipide extracts from brain tissue.

TL;DR: A simple method is described for the preparation of extracts of total pure lipides from brain tissue by homogenizing the tissue with a chloroform-methanol mixture and washing free of non-lipide contaminants.

The quantitative estimation of cerebrosides in nervous tissue.

TL;DR: The values for cerebrosides found in the current literature include gangliosides, and other investigators (JOHNSON, MCNABB, and ROSSITER, 1950; CUMINGS, 1953; BLACKWOOD and CUMings, 1954) have neglected the ganglariosides.

Quantitative analysis of phospholipids and phospholipid fatty acids from silica gel thin-layer chromatograms.

TL;DR: An improved procedure for the quantitative assay of phospholipids separated by TLC is described, in which a specially washed Silica Gel H and a newly designed chromatography unit are employed.
