Simple, rapid and cost-effective method for the determination of zirconium in different samples

TL;DR: In this paper, a quick, simple and cost-effective spectrophotometric procedure is investigated for microgram estimation of zirconium ions, which is based on the reaction of Zr(IV) with Mordant blue 2RL (MBR) as complexing agent.
Journal ArticleDOI

Comparative study for measurement of environmental natural radioactivity in the crude phosphoric acid using nuclear and non-nuclear techniques

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors developed a rapid and accurate alternative analytical method for measuring naturally occurring radioactivity in the crude phosphoric acid (CPA), which was achieved using nuclear method based on the non-destructive γ-ray measurements; and non-nuclear methods, including the ICP-OES and UV-vis colorimetric method.
Journal ArticleDOI

Sensitive fluorometric determination of gold in geological samples using fire assay pre-concentration coupled with microfluidic paper-based analytical device

TL;DR: In this article, a micro fluidic paper-based analytical device (µPAD) was developed for analysis of gold in geological samples, which consists of different zones, including detection, pH adjustment, reaction and elution.
Journal ArticleDOI

Sensitive Assessment of Hexavalent Chromium Using Various Uniform and Non-uniform Color Space Signals Derived from Digital Images

TL;DR: In this paper, an aliquot sample containing Cr(VI) is reacted with diphenylcarbazide to yield a characteristic violet color, and the violet-colored product gave the red, green, and blue (RGB) intensities that are converted into ten uniform and non-uniform color spaces and two color difference parameters, which are used and compared here, for the first time, as analytical signaling tools for the assessment of hexavalent chromium.
Journal ArticleDOI

Novel approach for the determination of zirconium by solid-phase spectrophotometry

TL;DR: In this article, solid phase spectrophotometry was used to determine trace amounts of zirconium[IV] in water, soil, plant materials and ore samples, where Zr was sorbed in a dextran-type lipophilic gel as a complex with 2-benzothiazolylazo)-3-hydroxyphenol.
