TLDR
In this paper, several quantum entropies are systematically studied and the mathematical structure of a channel in optical communication processes is presented, and general formulas of error probability in some communication processes using coherent or squeezed states, are obtained and the irreversibility for some dynamical processes is discussed.

The capacity of the quantum multiple-access channel

TL;DR: A second issue of this work is the presentation of a calculus of quantum information quantities, based on the algebraic formulation of quantum theory, which is applied to the case of noisy channels, with arbitrary input signal states.

Quantum Adaptivity in Biology: From Genetics to Cognition

TL;DR: The foundations of classical probability and quantum probability Theory and general approach to non-Kolmogorov probability theory as well as the application of adaptive dynamics to Biology are explained.

Compound Channels, Transition Expectations, and Liftings

TL;DR: In this paper, the notion of lifting was introduced as a generalization of the compound state introduced in [21] and [22] and it allows a unified approach to the problems of quantum measurement and signal transmission through quantum channels.

Mixed state dense coding and its relation to entanglement measures

TL;DR: This work investigates the case when the prior entanglement is not maximal and the initial state of the entangled pair of qubits being used for the dense coding is a mixed state, and finds upper and lower bounds on the capability to do dense coding in terms of the various measures ofEntanglement.
Journal ArticleDOI

Complexities and Their Applications to Characterization of Chaos

TL;DR: In this paper, the concept of complexity in information dynamics is discussed and the chaos degree defined by the complexity is applied to examine chaotic behavior of logistic map in information dynamics.

A mathematical theory of communication

TL;DR: This final installment of the paper considers the case where the signals or the messages or both are continuously variable, in contrast with the discrete nature assumed until now.

Coherent and incoherent states of the radiation field

TL;DR: In this article, the photon statistics of arbitrary fields in fully quantum-mechanical terms are discussed, and a general method of representing the density operator for the field is discussed as well as a simple formulation of a superposition law for photon fields.

Quantum detection and estimation theory

TL;DR: In this article, the optimum procedure for choosing between two hypotheses, and an approximate procedure valid at small signal-to-noise ratios and called threshold detection, are presented, and a quantum counterpart of the Cramer-Rao inequality of conventional statistics sets a lower bound to the mean-square errors of such estimates.
