Stress-induced phase transformation during superplastic deformation in two-phase Ti–Al–Fe alloy

TLDR
In this article, the phase transformation accompanied by diffusion can be induced by application of stress of the order of 100 MPa. This new type of stress-induced phase transformation can decrease the β transus temperature by more than 100 K. The phase equilibrium under stressed condition was calculated by increasing the Gibbs energy of the α phase by 500 J/mol relative to that of the β phase.

An Overview of the Thermomechanical Processing of α/β Titanium Alloys: Current Status and Future Research Opportunities

TL;DR: In this paper, a review of the principles underlying thermomechanical processing of α/β titanium alloys is presented, focusing on the formulation of constitutive descriptions for plastic flow under hot working conditions, the evolution of microstructure, the occurrence of defects, and novel/emerging TMP techniques.

Thermomechanical characterization of β-stabilized Ti–45Al–7Nb–0.4W–0.15B alloy

TL;DR: In this article, the deformation and recrystallization occurred preferentially in the grain boundary β phases because its good high temperature deformability enhances grain boundary sliding and migration, and thus improves the workability.

SGTE data for pure elements

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present the data for the condensed phases of 78 elements as currently used by SGTE (Scientific Group Thermodata Europe) as a sound basis for the critical assessment of thermodynamic data, thereby, perhaps, limiting unnecessary duplication of effort.
