Highly stretchable, transparent, and conductive polymer

TL;DR: A highly stretchable conducting polymer, realized with a range of enhancers that serve a dual function: (i) they change morphology and (ii) they act as conductivity-enhancing dopants in poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrenesulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS).

The effects of solvents on the morphology and sheet resistance in poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene)–polystyrenesulfonic acid (PEDOT–PSS) films

TL;DR: The effects of solvents on the morphology and sheet resistance in poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene)-polystyrenesulfonic acid (PEDOT-PSS) films were studied in this article.

Structural control of mixed ionic and electronic transport in conducting polymers.

TL;DR: It is shown that bulk ionic and electronic mobilities are simultaneously affected by processing-induced changes in nano- and meso-scale structure in PEDOT:PSS films, and that domain purification on addition of dispersion co-solvents limits ion mobility, even while electronic conductivity improves.

A high-rate and long cycle life aqueous electrolyte battery for grid-scale energy storage

TL;DR: A new type of safe, fast, inexpensive, long-life aqueous electrolyte battery, which relies on the insertion of potassium ions into a copper hexacyanoferrate cathode and a novel activated carbon/polypyrrole hybrid anode and an electrochemically active additive to tune its potential.

Novel scalable synthesis of highly conducting and robust PEDOT paper for a high performance flexible solid supercapacitor

TL;DR: In this article, a novel synthetic strategy has been developed for the preparation of a highly conducting polyethylenedioxythiophene (PEDOT) phase on flexible cellulose paper by inducing surfactant-free interfacial polymerization at the interface of two immiscible liquids.

Electrochromic and highly stable poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) switches between opaque blue-black and transparent sky blue

TL;DR: The synthesis and properties of poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT) are reported in this article, where the authors show that PEDOT shows a low band-gap, 0.5 eV lower than that of polythiophene.

Electrochemical applications of the bending beam method. 1. Mass transport and volume changes in polypyrrole during redox

TL;DR: In this paper, the bending beam method was introduced to studies of the electrochemistry of polyrrole (PPy) electrodes, where a bipolymer strip made of a PPy layer and a polyethylene layer bound together responds, by bending, to volume changes in the Ppy layer during its electrochemical doping and undoping.

Structure of thin films of poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene)

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of heating PEDOT to 200 °C was studied, which corroborates with the optical anisotropy. But the effect was limited, and evidence was found for a paracrystalline structure.
