Teaching through Interactions: Testing a Developmental Framework of Teacher Effectiveness in over 4,000 Classrooms

TL;DR: Teaching through Interactions posits that teacher- student interactions are a central driver for student learning and organizes teacher-student interactions into three major domains, and provides evidence that the three-domain structure is the best-fitting model across multiple data sets.

Development of body image, eating disturbance, and general psychological functioning in female adolescents: Covariance structure modeling and longitudinal investigations

TL;DR: The findings from Study 1 indicated that level of obesity and perceived weight, but not maturational timing, had a directional influence on the other variables, and teasing history was significantly related to the development of body image and eating disturbance.

Liberal Democracy: Validity and Method Factors in Cross-National Measures

TL;DR: In this paper, a working definition of liberal democracy was proposed and a theory of "method factors" in subjective measures of liberal democracies was presented. But the results suggest that the current practice of treating unadjusted democracy indicators as error free can be misleading.

Self-efficacy partially mediates the effect of a school-based physical-activity intervention among adolescent girls

TL;DR: This study provides the first evidence from a randomized controlled trial that manipulation of self-efficacy results in increased physical activity among black and white adolescent girls.
Journal ArticleDOI

Prediction of elementary school children's externalizing problem behaviors from attentional and behavioral regulation and negative emotionality.

TL;DR: According to the best fitting structural equation model, at two ages behavioral dysregulation predicted externalizing behavior problems for children both high and low in negative emotionality, whereas prediction of problem behavior from attentional control was significant only for children prone tonegative emotionality.
