This paper proves optimality of a class of Analog to Digital Converters, which can be viewed as generalized Delta-Sigma Modulators (DSMs), with respect to a performance measure that can be characterized as the worst-case average intensity of the signal representation error.
Abstract
In this paper we prove optimality of a class of Analog to Digital Converters (ADCs), which can be viewed as generalized Delta-Sigma Modulators (DSMs), with respect to a performance measure that can be characterized as the worst-case average intensity of the signal representation error. An analytic expression for the ADC performance is given. Furthermore, our result proves separation of quantization and control for this class of ADCs subject to some technical conditions.

Stable Dynamic Quantizer Design for MIMO Non-Minimum Phase Systems based on Serial System Decomposition

TL;DR: This paper proposes a method to design a stable dynamic quantizer for multi-input, multi-output (MIMO) non-minimum phase systems and shows that the optimal dynamic quantizers is only dependent on the outer part.

Robust and Optimal Control

TL;DR: This paper reviewed the history of the relationship between robust control and optimal control and H-infinity theory and concluded that robust control has become thoroughly mainstream, and robust control methods permeate robust control theory.

H/sup /spl infin//-0ptimal Control and Related Minimax Design Problems: A Dynamic Game Approach

TL;DR: The authors believe that the H-infinity-optimal control theory is now at a stage where it can easily be incorporated into a second-level graduate course in a control curriculum, that would follow a basic course in linear control theory covering LQ and LQG designs.

An analysis of nonlinear behavior in delta - sigma modulators

TL;DR: This paper introduces a new method of analysis for deltasigma modulators based on modeling the nonlinear quantizer with a linearized gain, obtained by minimizing a mean-square-error criterion, followed by an additive noise source representing distortion components.
