TLDR
In this paper, the authors proposed a pulsed photothermal method for temperature measurements independently of reflected and parasitic fluxes, where a local increase of the surface temperature introduced by a laser pulse (a few ns) results in an additional component of the photon flux collected by the detector, proportional only to the variation of the emitted flux, the emissivity and Δ T.

Development of two-colour pyroreflectometry technique for temperature monitoring of tungsten plasma facing components

TL;DR: In this paper, a two-colour pyroreflectometry technique is proposed to measure the temperature on tungsten above 600 °C, where the main assumption is that the indicatrix of reflection does not vary within the narrow wavelength range used.

Characterization of disruption mitigation via massive gas injection on MAST

TL;DR: Mitigation has been seen to be effective at reducing peak divertor power loads, with reductions of up to 60% in the divertor's power load being observed as mentioned in this paper, which is reflected by an increase in radiated power, mainly due to line radiation from the injected impurities.
Journal ArticleDOI

Development of a realistic photonic modeling for the evaluation of infrared reflections in the metallic environment of ITER.

TL;DR: A realistic photonic modeling based on Monte Carlo ray-tracing codes is used to predict the global response of the complete IR survey system using the complex vessel geometry and the thermal and optical surface properties using the bidirectional reflectivity distribution function that models the photon-material interactions.

Simulation of the Infrared Views of the Upper Port VIS/IR Imaging System of ITER

TL;DR: In this article, a Monte Carlo ray-tracing code (SPEOS CAA V5 Based) was used to simulate the IR images of the ITER tokamak.

Self-contained high-pressure cell, apparatus, and procedure for the preparation of encapsulated proteins dissolved in low viscosity fluids for nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy

TL;DR: The design of a sample cell for high-performance nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) at elevated pressure is described, which has several advantages, including relatively low cost, excellent NMR performance, high-pressure tolerance, chemical inertness, and a relatively large active volume.

A concept to determine the true temperature of opaque materials using a tricolor pyroreflectometer

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present an analysis of their theoretical simulations and experimental measurements that have been carried out in order to validate a three-color method for the determination of the true temperature of opaque materials.
