Synthesis and characterization of electron-deficient pentacenes.

TLDR
The bromopentacenes could be further elucidated to pentacene nitriles, further decreasing the acene's reduction potential, while the charge-carrier mobility in the fluorinated systems was shown to scale with the degree of fluorine substitution.

Semiconducting π-conjugated systems in field-effect transistors: a material odyssey of organic electronics.

TL;DR: The focus of this review will be on the performance analysis of π-conjugated systems in OFETs, a kind of device consisting of an organic semiconducting layer, a gate insulator layer, and three terminals that provide an important insight into the charge transport of ρconjugate systems.
Journal ArticleDOI

The larger acenes: versatile organic semiconductors.

TL;DR: New approaches to add functionality were developed to improve the processability of these materials in solution, allowing the synthesis of acenes larger than pentacene, which have hitherto been largely unavailable and poorly studied.
Journal ArticleDOI

n-Type organic semiconductors in organic electronics.

TL;DR: This paper focuses upon recent developments in several classes of n-type materials and the design guidelines used to develop them.

Organic semiconductors: A theoretical characterization of the basic parameters governing charge transport

TL;DR: It is shown that the amplitude of the transfer integrals is extremely sensitive to the molecular packing, and specific arrangements can lead to electron mobilities that are larger than hole mobilities, which is, for instance, the case of perylene.
Journal ArticleDOI

Perfluoropentacene: high-performance p-n junctions and complementary circuits with pentacene.

TL;DR: Perfluoropentacene is a planar and crystalline material that adopts a herringbone structure as observed for pentacene, and the transfer characteristics exhibit a sharp inversion of the output signal with a high-voltage gain.

Copper-Catalyzed Domino Halide Exchange-Cyanation of Aryl Bromides

TL;DR: The new method represents a significant improvement over the traditional Rosenmund-von Braun reaction: the reaction conditions are much milder, and the use of stoichiometric amounts of copper(I) cyanide and polar solvents is avoided; therefore the isolation and purification of the aromatic nitrile products is greatly simplified.
