The effect of formulation parameters on the size of poly((2-dimethylamino)ethyl methacrylate)-plasmid complexes

TLDR
A mathematical model was derived, which shows that even at high plasmid concentration, small sized polyplexes were formed at low pH and ionic strength, especially when the solution contains 20% (w/v) sucrose.

Polymer-based siRNA delivery: Perspectives on the fundamental and phenomenological distinctions from polymer-based DNA delivery

TL;DR: How some of the remaining challenges in siRNA delivery facilitated by polymers can be addressed by applying knowledge from the longer-studied problem of DNA delivery is discussed.

Polyelectrolyte complex formation using alginate and chitosan

TL;DR: In this article, polyelectrolyte complexes (PECs) of alginate and chitosan were formed by adding 0.1% alginates solution (pH ∼6.5), and by adding the Chitosans solution to the Alginate solution under high shearing conditions, and the resultant PEC size, Zp, and pH were determined using dynamic light scattering (DLS), electrophoresis and by measuring turbidity and pH.

The influence of polymer structure on the interactions of cationic polymers with DNA and morphology of the resulting complexes

TL;DR: At the concentrations studied, these polymers interact electrostatically with DNA forming a unit structure with toroidal morphology; the extent of aggregation of the unit structures in solution depends upon the characteristics of the individual polymer.
