Satellite availability and positioning performance of uncombined precise point positioning using BeiDou-2 and BeiDou-3 multi-frequency signals

TL;DR: Both the positioning accuracy and the convergence time of BDS-2/BDS-3 joint UC-PPP are improved by approximately over 50%, which indicates that BDS-3 has a great potential to provide high-quality PNT services as other global navigation satellite systems.
Journal ArticleDOI

Ray-tracing solar radiation pressure modeling for QZS-1

TL;DR: In this paper, a ray-tracing simulation is performed to compute solar radiation pressure (SRP) accelerations in a more realistic manner, and the resulting SRP model is validated through QZS-1 precise orbit determination over a two year data arc covering yaw-steering and orbit-normal attitude regimes.
Journal ArticleDOI

Clustering Code Biases between BDS-2 and BDS-3 Satellites and Effects on Joint Solution

TL;DR: Wang et al. as discussed by the authors proposed a code bias estimation algorithm, using what they found to be an obvious clustering code bias phenomenon between the BeiDou navigation satellite system (BDS-2 and BDS-3 satellites, leading to the systematic biases existing in the BDS-2+3 joint solution.
Journal ArticleDOI

The ADOP and PDOP: Two complementary diagnostics for GNSS positioning

TL;DR: It is shown that the ADOP and PDOP have distinct behaviors, an important consequence of which is that one can have time periods with small PDOPs, and thus seemingly good geometry for precise positioning, but at the same time large ADOP's, thus showing that successful ambiguity resolution and therefore precise positioning will not be possible.

LEO–BDS–GPS integrated precise orbit modeling using FengYun-3D, FengYun-3C onboard and ground observations

TL;DR: In this paper, three integrated precise orbit determination (POD) schemes with the individual LEO and a combination of two LEOs are designed to investigate the contribution of the new FengYun-3D satellite.

Modelling the global ocean tides: modern insights from FES2004

TL;DR: A review of the state-of-the-art in the field of finite element solutions (FES) atlases can be found in this paper, where the authors introduce the FES2004 tidal atlas and validate the model against in situ and satellite data.

The International GNSS Service in a changing landscape of Global Navigation Satellite Systems

TL;DR: The IGS Strategic Plan and future directions of the globally-coordinated ~400 station IGS network, tracking data and information products, and outlines the scope of a few of its numerous working groups and pilot projects as the world anticipates a truly multi-system GNSS in the coming decade are discussed.

Precise Point Positioning Using IGS Orbit and Clock Products

TL;DR: This paper will describe the approach, summarize the adjustment procedure, and specify the earth- and space-based models that must be implemented to achieve cm-level positioning in static mode and station tropospheric zenth path delays with cm precision.

The IGS VTEC maps: a reliable source of ionospheric information since 1998

TL;DR: In this article, the IGS combined vertical total electron content (VTEC) maps were analyzed and the results confirmed the good performance of the combined VTEC maps, and the characteristic VTEC variability periods.

The International Laser Ranging Service

TL;DR: The ILRS works with new satellite missions in the design and building of retroreflector targets to maximize data quality and quantity, and science programs to optimize scientific data yield.
