Abstract
The story is told of how the Unified Cordic algorithm came to be developed, starting from an idea in the mind of a student and culminating in a product, a patent, a paper, a motorcade, and an award Along the way, a unified algorithm for generating the elementary functions and the math co-processor industry in Silicon Valley were born

A high-performance/low-latency vector rotational CORDIC architecture based on extended elementary angle set and trellis-based searching schemes

TL;DR: The proposed EEAS-based CORDIC algorithm can improve the overall SQNR performance by up to 25 dB compared with previous works, and a novel scaling operation is suggested, called Extended Type-II (ET-II) scaling operation, which results in much smaller quantization error than conventional Type-I scaling operation in the numerical approximation of scaling factor.
Journal ArticleDOI

CORDIC architectures: a survey

TL;DR: This paper presents systematic and comprehensive taxonomy of rotational CORDIC algorithms, and detailed comparison of various algorithms is presented, which can provide a first-order information to designers looking for either further improvement of performance or selection of rotations for a specific application.

A CORDIC Based Digital Hardware For Adaptive Exponential Integrate and Fire Neuron

TL;DR: Measurement results show that the proposed model can reproduce neuronal behaviors similar to the original model, and hardware device utilization and speed confirm the efficiency of the realized hardware compared with previous works.

Interpolation-based QR decomposition in MIMO-OFDM systems

TL;DR: Two algorithms for interpolation-based QR decomposition in MIMO-OFDM systems are presented and it is shown that the proposed algorithms, for a sufficiently high number of data-carrying tones and small channel order exhibit significantly smaller complexity than brute-force per-tone QR decompositions.

A unified algorithm for elementary functions

TL;DR: This paper describes a single unified algorithm for the calculation of elementary functions including multiplication, division, sin, cos, tan, arctan, sinh, cosh, tanh, arCTanh, In, exp and square-root.

Pseudo division and pseudo multiplication processes

TL;DR: Some digit-by-digit methods for the evaluation of the elementary functions are described, which involve processes that resemble repeated-addition multiplication and repeated-subtraction division.
