TLDR
This is the first example of an Arg → Trp substitution, none so far having been found in many families of proteins, which defines the RNA codon for the 138th residue of human myoglobin as CGG and that for another variant 138 Arg → Gln as CAG.

New aspects of altitude adaptation in Tibetans: a proteomic approach

TL;DR: It is concluded that Tibetans at high altitude, and to some extent, those born and living at low altitude, are protected from ROS‐induced tissue damage and possess specific metabolic adaptations.

On the evolution of myoglobin.

TL;DR: Estimates of the rate of molecular evolution are of interest because its supposed constancy has been a major argument in favour of the hypothesis that a high proportion of fixed mutations are neutral, or nearly so, as far as selection is concerned.

Primary structure of human myoglobin.

TL;DR: The amino-acid sequence of myoglobin has been fully established in sperm whale, porpoise, harbour seal, horse, and kangaroo and is known partially for the myoglobin of dolphin, Macacus rhesus, humpback whale, Aplysia and man.

Myoglobin: methods and diagnostic uses.

TL;DR: The diagnosis of myoglobinemia and myoglobinuria can be now confirmed with the use of immunoassay techniques, although not yet widely available, they offer the possibility of the specificity and sensitivity needed for clinical use.

Rhabdomyolysis and myoglobinuria in childhood.

TL;DR: This article focuses on several aspects of rhabdomyolysis: its exclusion from other causes of pigmenturia, its biochemical and clinical features, and its defined and theoretical etiologies.

Haemoglobin GCopenhagen and haemoglobin JCambridge. Two new β-chain variants of haemoglobin A

TL;DR: A survey of haemoglobins in population samples comprised of 5000 Danish and 3000 British citizens has revealed the presence of several variants ofHaemoglobin A with amino acid substitution found to be β47 aspartic acid → asparagine.

TRIS Buffer for the Demonstration of Haemoglobin A2 by Paper Electrophoresis

TL;DR: It is possible to recognize, with the naked eye, small fractions which would escape discovery on paper electrophoresis with barbiturate buffer, which is particularly useful for the examination of specimens for haemoglobin A2.
