TLDR
In this article, a relation between the variation of thermoelectric power with thickness of the vacuum evaporated PbTe films has been derived, where the films were deposited on mica, glass, quartz and LiF substrates, under identical conditions.
Abstract
Variation of thermoelectric power with thickness of the vacuum evaporated PbTe films has been investigated. The films were deposited on mica, glass, quartz and LiF substrates, under identical conditions. Attempts have been made to derive a relation which represents the variation of thermoelectric power with thickness of the film. The temperature variation of thermoelectric power has also bsen studied.

Thermoelectric properties of PbTe thin films prepared by gas evaporation method

TL;DR: In this article, a thin film with fine grains was successfully fabricated by the gas evaporation method, and the authors attributed the decrease in carrier mobility exceeding the increase in carrier concentration with decreasing grain size.
Journal ArticleDOI

Electrical conductivity of air-exposed and unexposed lead telluride thin films-temperature and size effects

TL;DR: In this paper, it was found that the electrical resistivity of the air-exposed films is much higher than that of the as-grown (unexposed) thin films.
Journal ArticleDOI

Transport properties of lead telluride films

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors studied polycrystalline, semiconducting and p-type lead telluride films formed at room temperature for resistivity, Hall constant, mobility, carrier density and thermoelectric power between 78 and 400 K.
Journal ArticleDOI

On the mechanism of conduction and photoconduction in PbTe films

TL;DR: In this paper, the same oxygen trap situated at a depth of 0·06 eV from the conduction band is found to be responsible for both conduction and photoconduction in the low temperature region.
Journal ArticleDOI

Temperature variation in the thermoelectric power of polycrystalline CdS films

TL;DR: In this article, the variation with temperature in the thermoelectric power of vacuum-deposition CdS films grown under the influence of a longitudinal d.c. electric field was investigated.

Mechanism of Photoconductivity in Chemically Deposited Lead Sulfide Layers

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the mechanism of photoconductivity in chemically deposited PbS layers and showed that the photoexcitation and photoadsorption of oxygen are similar, and they may be described in terms of the same inhomogeneous model.

Interpretation of Equilibrium and Steady-State Hall and Thermoelectric Effects in Inhomogeneous Materials

TL;DR: In this article, the authors consider simple variations of a basic resistive network model for an inhomogeneous material and show that a wide variety of experimentally observed effects can be described with respect to equilibrium or steady-state Hall and thermoelectric measurements.

Surface interaction of H and O2 on thin PbSe epitaxic films

TL;DR: In this paper, thin PbSe films were evaporated onto NaCl substrates and the effect of various ambient gases on their electrical properties was investigated, and the experimental data can be explained quite well by a phenomenological two-layer model for the film which consists of a bulk region and a surface region which is affected by gas ambients.

Thermoelectricity and Thermal Conductivity in the Lead Sulfide Group of Semiconductors

TL;DR: The thermal conductivity and thermoelectric power of PbS and PbTe have been measured at temperatures ranging from 4\ifmmode^\circ\else\textdegree\fi{}K to 100\ifmode^''circ\circ''else''text degree\fi {}K as mentioned in this paper.
