TLDR
Toxic physiology assays in P. tricornutum indicated that the p-choroaniline induced significant changes of photosynthetic pigments, Chlorophyll fluorescence parameters, rates of Photosynthetic O2 release and respiration O2 consumption, and antioxidant enzyme activities (SOD, CAT), which implied that these parameters could be taken as sensitive indicators for the environmental assessment.About:

The allelopathic effects of aqueous extracts from Spartina alterniflora on controlling the Microcystis aeruginosa blooms.
TL;DR: The results showed that the inhibitory effect became stronger with the increasing S. alterniflora concentration, and the results of GC-MS showed that Cyclohexane, Heptane, 2-Cyclohexen-1-one, Hexadecanoic acid, 2,4-Di-tert-butylphenol and Hydrocinnamic acid may be the main allelochemicals.

Biodegradation and metabolic fate of thiamphenicol via Chlorella sp. UTEX1602 and L38
TL;DR: The cultivation results showed that TAP could be biodegraded via the target algae, and biological treatment via microalgae has the potential for TAP purification.

Formation mechanism of the Microcystis aeruginosa bloom in the water with low dissolved phosphorus
TL;DR: There was a negative correlation between DIP concentration and AP activity of algae, and the relative expression of phosphate transporter gene increased with decreasing phosphorus concentrations, which would help to inhibit the formation of algal blooms.

Chlorophyll fluorescence: a probe of photosynthesis in vivo
TL;DR: This review examines how fluorescence parameters can be used to evaluate changes in photosystem II (PSII) photochemistry, linear electron flux, and CO(2) assimilation in vivo, and outlines the theoretical bases for the use of specificfluorescence parameters.

Biodegradation of carbamazepine using freshwater microalgae Chlamydomonas mexicana and Scenedesmus obliquus and the determination of its metabolic fate.
Jiu Qiang Xiong,Mayur B. Kurade,Reda A.I. Abou-Shanab,Min Kyu Ji,Jaeyoung Choi,Jong-Oh Kim,Byong-Hun Jeon +6 more
TL;DR: C. mexicana was more tolerant to CBZ and could be used for treatment of CBZ contaminated wastewater, and two metabolites (10, 11-dihydro-10,11-expoxycarbamazepine and n-hydroxy-CBZ) were identified by UPLC-MS, as a result of CBz biodegradation by C. meXicana.

Marek Zivcak,Marian Brestic,Zuzana Balatova,Petra Drevenakova,Katarina Olsovska,Hazem M. Kalaji,Xinghong Yang,Suleyman I. Allakhverdiev +7 more
TL;DR: The results support the roles of alternative electron sinks (either from PSII or PSI) and cyclic electron flow in photoprotection of PSII and PSI in drought stress conditions and analyses of the partitioning of absorbed energy between photosystems are needed for interpreting flux through linear electron flow, PSI cyclic electrons flow, along withAlternative electron sinks.
