TLDR
The transformations of carbon-sulfur bonds into carbon-hydrogen and carbon-carbon bonds under homogeneous conditions are discussed in this paper, where the reduction methods using metal carbonyls, low-valent transition metal complexes, metal hydrides, Grignard reagents and transition metal compounds as reducing agents are presented.
Abstract
The transformations of carbon-sulfur bonds into carbon-hydrogen and carbon-carbon bonds under homogeneous conditions are discussed. The reduction methods using metal carbonyls, low-valent transition metal complexes, metal hydrides, Grignard reagents and transition metal compounds as reducing agents are presented. The reactions leadsing to the carbon-carbon bond formation by coupling with main group organometallic nucleophioles, desulfurdimerization, carbonylation and related methods are reviewed. Some other synthetically useful reactions involving the cleavage of carbon-sulfur bonds are also briefly discussed

Nickel‐Catalyzed Cross‐Coupling of Aryl Methyl Ethers with Aryl Boronic Esters

TL;DR: A method for the nickel-catalyzed cross-coupling of aryl methyl ethers with boronic esters is described, which investigated the reaction of 2-methoxynaphthalene with organoboron compounds in the presence of a catalytic amount of [Ni(cod)2] (cod= cycloocta-1,5-diene) and PCy3).

Evolution of 3-mercaptohexanol, hydrogen sulfide, and methyl mercaptan during bottle storage of Sauvignon blanc wines. Effect of glutathione, copper, oxygen exposure, and closure-derived oxygen.

TL;DR: The effects of wine composition and postbottling oxygen exposure on 3-mercaptohexanol, hydrogen sulfide, and methyl mercaptan were investigated and the concentration of MeSH was virtually not affected by the experimental variables at 6 months, although differences were observed after 3 months of storage.

Methodologies and Strategies for Selective Borylation of C–Het and C–C Bonds

TL;DR: A comprehensive overview of the direct borylation of less reactive C-Het and C-C bonds has become highly important to get efficiency and functional-group compatibility in organoborons.

Sequential assembly strategy for tetrasubstituted olefin synthesis using vinyl 2-pyrimidyl sulfide as a platform.

TL;DR: A programmable and diversity-oriented synthetic scheme through a site-selective and sequential assembly of pi-components onto a C=C core of vinyl 2-pyrimidyl sulfide results in the production of all possible regio- and stereoisomers of multisubstituted olefins.

Homolytic C−S Bond Scission in the Desulfurization of Aromatic and Aliphatic Thiols Mediated by a Mo/Co/S Cluster: Mechanistic Aspects Relevant to HDS Catalysis

TL;DR: In this article, the kinetics of the reaction of a series of aromatic and aliphatic thiols with cluster 1 were determined, and the rate determining step of the desulfurization reaction is the initial association of the thiol to the cluster.
