Abstract
A laser via drilling system, and a method of use thereof, is provided. The apparatus uses two or more laser systems to achieve processing parameter flexibility. The output beams from the independently controlled laser systems are combined using a beam splitter that combines the beams into single or multiple processing beams. The operational flexibility of the system can be further enhanced through the use of multiple EO modulators and a polarization sensitive beam splitter.

Lasers for synchronized pulse shape tailoring

TL;DR: A plurality of sub-resonators (12, 14 ), having different design configurations, share a common resonator section (18) such that the lasing action can be substantially synchronized to provide coherent laser pulses that merge the different respective pulse energy profile and/or pulse width characteristics imparted by the configurations of the sub-reonators as discussed by the authors.

Process for making a hole and device

TL;DR: In this article, a method for producing a hole in a turbine blade, a combustion chamber lining or a gas-or steam turbine by pulsed laser beams is described, where the method is carried out in several process steps and shorter laser pulse lengths are used in a first process step than in a final process step, and continuously enlarging the laser pulse length up to a depth of the hole during the progress of a hole formation from an outer surface of the component.

Laser beam machine and calculation device for laser beam machine

TL;DR: A laser beam machine as discussed by the authors consists of a number of laser modules that each generate a laser beam and a combiner that collects a plurality of laser beams generated from the laser modules to output one laser beam.

Dental procedures and apparatus using ultraviolet radiation

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed an improved dental procedure and apparatus where ultraviolet radiation pulses are used to etch selectively both hard tissue and soft tissue in dental procedures, where there exists distinct ablation thresholds for hard and soft tissues which are dependent on the material being ablated for a given wavelength of the ultraviolet radiation.
