Slutsky,V.N. Stekhanov,K. Twelker,Norvik Voskanian,J. L. Vuilleumier,U. Wichoski,J. Wodin,Liang Yang,Y.-R. Yen +58 more
TL;DR: In this article, the design, operation, and calibration of two versions of a xenon gas purity monitor (GPM) developed for the EXO double beta decay program are discussed, along with the interactions of oxygen and other impurities with the GPM's tungsten filament.
Journal ArticleDOI
Study of a zirconium getter for purification of xenon gas
A. Dobi,David Leonard,David Leonard,C. R. Hall,L. J. Kaufman,T. J. Langford,S. Slutsky,Y.-R. Yen +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, the purifier's ability to absorb N2 and methane can be extinguished long before any decrease in O2 performance is observed, and slower flow rates should be employed for xenon purification due to the cooling effect that the heavy gas has on the getter.

TL;DR: LUX as discussed by the authors is a two-phase (liquid/gas) xenon time projection chamber designed to detect nuclear recoils resulting from interactions with dark matter particles, which is continuously and reliably operating since its full underground deployment in early 2013.
