Pituitary blastoma: a pathognomonic feature of germ-line DICER1 mutations.
Leanne de Kock,Leanne de Kock,Nelly Sabbaghian,François Plourde,Archana Srivastava,Evan Weber,Dorothée Bouron-Dal Soglio,Nancy Hamel,Nancy Hamel,Joon Hyuk Choi,Sung Hye Park,Cheri Deal,Megan M. Kelsey,Megan M. Kelsey,Megan K. Dishop,Adam J. Esbenshade,John F. Kuttesch,John F. Kuttesch,Thomas S. Jacques,Arie Perry,Heinz Leichter,Philippe Maeder,Marie-Anne Brundler,Marie-Anne Brundler,Justin T. Warner,J. W. Neal,Margaret Zacharin,Márta Korbonits,Trevor Cole,Heidi Traunecker,Thomas W. McLean,Fabio Rotondo,Pierre Lepage,Steffen Albrecht,Eva Horvath,Kalman Kovacs,John R. Priest,William D. Foulkes +37 more
TL;DR: It is hypothesized that PitB is a pathognomonic feature of a germ-line DICER1 mutation and that each PitB will harbor a second somatic mutation in DICE1, a domain essential to the generation of 5p miRNAs from the 5′ arm of miRNA-precursors.
Journal ArticleDOI
Body mass index and blood pressure changes over the course of treatment of pediatric acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
Adam J. Esbenshade,Jill H. Simmons,Tatsuki Koyama,Elizabeth Koehler,James A. Whitlock,James A. Whitlock,Debra L. Friedman,Debra L. Friedman +7 more
TL;DR: Obesity and hypertension are reported among survivors of pediatric acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), but little is known about the trajectory of body mass index (BMI) and blood pressure over the course of ALL therapy.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of Caspofungin vs Fluconazole Prophylaxis on Invasive Fungal Disease Among Children and Young Adults With Acute Myeloid Leukemia: A Randomized Clinical Trial.
Brian T. Fisher,Theoklis E. Zaoutis,Christopher C. Dvorak,Michael Nieder,Danielle M. Zerr,John R. Wingard,Colleen Callahan,Doojduen Villaluna,Lu Chen,Ha Dang,Adam J. Esbenshade,Sarah Alexander,Joseph Wiley,Lillian Sung +13 more
TL;DR: The findings suggest that caspofungin may be considered for prophylaxis against invasive fungal disease, although study interpretation is limited by early termination due to an unplanned interim analysis that appeared to have suggested futility.
Journal ArticleDOI
A clinicopathologic study of diencephalic pediatric low-grade gliomas with BRAF V600 mutation
Cheng-Ying Ho,Bret C. Mobley,Heather Gordish-Dressman,Heather Gordish-Dressman,Christopher J. VandenBussche,Gary E. Mason,Miriam Bornhorst,Adam J. Esbenshade,Mahtab Tehrani,Brent A. Orr,Delecia R. LaFrance,Joseph M. Devaney,Beatrix W. Meltzer,Sean E. Hofherr,Peter C. Burger,Roger J. Packer,Fausto J. Rodriguez +16 more
TL;DR: Diencephalic BRAFV600-mutant pediatric LGAs are associated with unique clinicopathologic features and have a more aggressive clinical course, especially in children under age 13, and the low rate of CDKN2A deletion suggests that these tumors are molecularly distinct from secondary pediatric high-grade gliomas.
Journal ArticleDOI
Obesity and insulin resistance in pediatric acute lymphoblastic leukemia worsens during maintenance therapy.
Adam J. Esbenshade,Jill H. Simmons,Tatsuki Koyama,Robert B. Lindell,Debra L. Friedman,Debra L. Friedman +5 more
TL;DR: Pediatric acute lymphoblastic leukemia survivors at increased risk for the metabolic syndrome are followed longitudinally over the first year of maintenance therapy to establish the trajectory of development during active treatment.
