Journal ArticleDOI
Capsid-like particles decorated with the SARS-CoV-2 receptor-binding domain elicit strong virus neutralization activity.
Cyrielle Fougeroux,Louise Goksøyr,Manja Idorn,Vladislav Soroka,Sebenzile K. Myeni,Robert Dagil,Christoph M. Janitzek,Max Søgaard,Kara Lee Aves,Emma W. Horsted,Sayit Mahmut Erdoğan,Sayit Mahmut Erdoğan,Tobias Gustavsson,Jerzy Dorosz,Stine B. Clemmensen,Laurits Fredsgaard,Susan Thrane,Elena Ethel Vidal-Calvo,Paul Khalifé,Thomas M. Sander +47 more
TL;DR: In this paper, two capsid-like particle (CLP)-based vaccines displaying the receptor-binding domain (RBD) of the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein were developed.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Influence of Sub-Unit Composition and Expression System on the Functional Antibody Response in the Development of a VAR2CSA Based Plasmodium falciparum Placental Malaria Vaccine
Morten Nielsen,Mafalda Resende,Willem A. de Jongh,Sisse B. Ditlev,Benjamin Mordmüller,Sophie Houard,Nicaise Tuikue Ndam,Nicaise Tuikue Ndam,Mette Ø. Agerbæk,Mette Hamborg,Achille Massougbodji,Saddou Issifou,Anette Strøbæk,Lars Poulsen,Odile Leroy,Peter G. Kremsner,Jean-Philippe Chippaux,Jean-Philippe Chippaux,Jean-Philippe Chippaux,Adrian J. F. Luty,Adrian J. F. Luty,Adrian J. F. Luty,Philippe Deloron,Philippe Deloron,Thor G. Theander,Charlotte Dyring,Ali Salanti +26 more
TL;DR: The study shows that induction of a functional response against recombinant subunits of the VAR2CSA antigen is unpredictable, demonstrating the need for large-scale screening in order to identify antigens that induce a broadly strain-transcending antibody response.
Journal ArticleDOI
Development of a Drosophila S2 insect-cell based placental malaria vaccine production process
Wian A de Jongh,Mafalda Resende,Carsten Leisted,Anette Strøbæk,Besim Berisha,Morten Nielsen,Ali Salanti,Kathryn A. Hjerrild,Simon J. Draper,Charlotte Dyring +9 more
TL;DR: The VAR2CSA protein, which the vaccine is based on, is hard to express and comparison studies between insect, bacteria and yeast have shown that an insect cell system is the only one leading to a clinically useful immune response.
Journal ArticleDOI
Prevention and Therapy of Metastatic HER-2+ Mammary Carcinoma with a Human Candidate HER-2 Virus-like Particle Vaccine
Francesca Ruzzi,Arianna Palladini,Stine N. Clemmensen,Anette Strøbæk,Nicolaas A. A. Buijs,Tanja Domeyer,Jerzy Dorosz,Vladislav Soroka,Dagmara Grzadziela,Christina Jo Rasmussen,Ida Busch Nielsen,Max Soegaard,Maria Sofia Semprini,Laura Scalambra,Stefania Angelicola,Lorena Landuzzi,Pier Luigi Lollini,Mette Thorn +17 more
TL;DR: ES2B-C001 is a promising candidate vaccine for the therapy of tumors expressing HER-2, a VLP-based vaccine being developed for human breast cancer therapy.
