Role of NK1.1+ and AsGm-1+ cells in oral immunoregulation of experimental colitis.
TL;DR: The role of NK1.1+ and AsGm-1+ expressing cells in the inflammatory/tolerance paradigm in experimental colitis was determined to support an antiinflammatory immune paradigm, while NKT lymphocytes support a proinflammatory shift.
Journal ArticleDOI
Amplification of immunological functions by subcutaneous injection of intermediate-high dose interleukin-2 for 2 years after autologous stem cell transplantation in children with stage IV neuroblastoma.

TL;DR: An increase in the level of total lymphocytes, mainly due to expansion of T cells, and enhanced proliferative response to phytohemaglutinin were observed, and intermediate-high dose IL-2 is feasible and results in expansion and stimulation of killing activity against several targets including in some cases, neuroblastoma tumor cells.
Journal Article
Soluble interferon-gamma receptor and interferon-gamma in patients undergoing allogeneic bone marrow transplantation for hematological malignancies.
TL;DR: Both s-IFN-gamma R and IFN-Gamma were found to be significantly elevated during engraftment and GVHD, and hence these cytokines may be used as a tool for assessing engraftments and AGVHD.
Journal ArticleDOI
Involved field radiation post autologous stem cell transplantation in lymphoma patients is associated with major haematological toxicities
TL;DR: The most appropriate timing for radiation in malignant lymphoma patients who are scheduled for ASCT, as well as the protective role of haematopoietic growth factors like erythropoietin and Granulocyte-Monocyte (GM), colony stimulating factors (CSF) and others, are discussed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Isradipine for the prevention of cyclosporine-induced hypertension in allogeneic bone marrow transplant recipients: a randomized, double-blind study.
TL;DR: Isradipine does not harm immunohematopoietic reconstitution after BMT; therefore, it may be used in this setting, although the previously reported incidence of hypertension has been exaggerated.
