Unrelated cord blood transplantation for adult patients with acute myeloid leukemia : higher incidence of acute graft-versus-host disease and lower survival in male patients transplanted with female unrelated cord blood-a report from Eurocord, the Acute Leukemia Working Party, and the Cord Blood Committee of the Cellular Therapy and Immunobiology Working Party of the European Group for Blood and Marrow Transplantation
Frédéric Baron,Myriam Labopin,Annalisa Ruggeri,Mohamad Mohty,Guillermo Sanz,Noel Milpied,Andrea Bacigalupo,Alessandro Rambaldi,Francesca Bonifazi,Alberto Bosi,Jorge Sierra,Ibrahim Yakoub-Agha,Josep Maria Ribera Santasusana,Eliane Gluckman,Arnon Nagler +14 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors compared transplantation outcomes in male patients given female unrelated cord blood (UCB) versus other gender combinations and found that transplanting male patients with grafts from female donors has been associated with a higher incidence of graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) and of nonrelapse mortality (NRM).
Journal ArticleDOI
Second allogeneic stem cell transplantation in patients with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia: a study on behalf of the Acute Leukaemia Working Party of the European Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation
Arnon Nagler,Myriam Labopin,Bhagirathbhai Dholaria,Jürgen Finke,Arne Brecht,Urs Schanz,Riitta Niittyvuopio,Andreas Neubauer,Martin Bornhäuser,Stella Santarone,Dietrich W. Beelen,Avichai Shimoni,Wolf Rösler,Sebastian Giebel,Bipin N. Savani,Mohamad Mohty +15 more
TL;DR: Although second allogeneic haematopoietic cell transplantation is a therapeutic option for patients relapsing after first HCT (allo‐HCT1), there is limited data on allo-HCT2 in patients with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL).
Journal ArticleDOI
Relapse and survival after transplantation for complex karyotype acute myeloid leukemia: A report from the Acute Leukemia Working Party of the European Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation and the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center
Stefan O. Ciurea,Myriam Labopin,Gérard Socié,Liisa Volin,Jakob Passweg,Patrice Chevallier,Dietrich W. Beelen,Noel-Jean Milpied,Didier Blaise,Jan J. Cornelissen,Nathalie Fegueux,Emmanuelle Polge,Piyanuch Kongtim,Gabriela Rondon,Jordi Esteve,Mohamad Mohty,Bipin N. Savani,Richard E. Champlin,Arnon Nagler +18 more
TL;DR: The objective of this study was to identify prognostic factors associated with post‐transplantation survival in a large cohort of patients with CK AML.
Journal ArticleDOI
Management of patients with acute leukemia during the COVID-19 outbreak: practical guidelines from the acute leukemia working party of the European Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation.
Eolia Brissot,Myriam Labopin,Frédéric Baron,Ali Bazarbachi,Gesine Bug,Fabio Ciceri,Jordi Esteve,Sebastian Giebel,Maria H. Gilleece,Norbert Claude Gorin,Francesco Lanza,Zinaida Peric,Annalisa Ruggeri,Jaime Sanz,Bipin N. Savani,Christoph Schmid,Roni Shouval,Alexandros Spyridonidis,Jurjen Versluis,Arnon Nagler,Mohamad Mohty +20 more
TL;DR: This study suggests that hospital admission and recurrent outpatient visits, inherent to cancer patients’ management, are potential risk factors for SARS-CoV-2 infection.
Journal ArticleDOI
Thrombin generation as a predictor of thromboembolic events in multiple myeloma patients
Merav Leiba,Sarah Malkiel,Ivan Budnik,Gabriela Rozic,Abraham Avigdor,Adrian Duek,Arnon Nagler,Gili Kenet,Tami Livnat,Tami Livnat +9 more
TL;DR: TG tests may be incorporated into decision-making protocols of prophylactic anticoagulant therapy in MM patients, and may predict thrombotic events in patients with multiple myeloma.
