Ovarian cancer and smoking: individual participant meta-analysis including 28 114 women with ovarian cancer from 51 epidemiological studies

Eugenia E. Calle, +144 more
- 01 Apr 2012 -
TL;DR: The excess of mucinous ovarian cancers in smokers is roughly counterbalanced by the deficit of endometrioid and clear-cell ovarian cancers, suggesting that smoking-related risks by tumour subtype is important for understanding ovarian carcinogenesis.
Journal ArticleDOI

Black-white differences in hip geometry. Study of Osteoporotic Fractures Research Group.

TL;DR: It is concluded that women of African origin have thicker cortical bone of the hip, a shorter hip axis length and smaller intertrochanteric widths than Caucasians and this could contribute to approximately a 25% decrease risk of hip fracture among blacks.
Journal ArticleDOI
