TL;DR: In this paper, a measurement of the Hubble constant H-0 using the gravitational wave (GW) event GW190814, which resulted from the coalescence of a 23M (circle dot) black hole with a 2.6M(circle dot), compact object, as a standard siren was presented.
Journal ArticleDOI

Van de Werf,Tracy Webb,Christopher N. A. Willmer,S. P. Willner,Lin Yan +31 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a starburst-dominated ULIRG sample at high redshift with total infrared luminosity measured directly from FIR and millimeter photometry is presented, and as such gives us the first accurate view of broadband SEDs for starburst galaxies at extremely high luminosity and at all wavelengths.
Journal ArticleDOI
A VLT/FORS2 view at $z\sim6$: Lyman-$\alpha$ emitter fraction and galaxy physical properties at the edge of the epoch of cosmic reionization
S. De Barros,Laura Pentericci,E. Vanzella,M. Castellano,Adriano Fontana,A. Grazian,C. J. Conselice,Haojing Yan,Anton M. Koekemoer,S. Cristiani,Mark Dickinson,S. L. Finkelstein,Roberto Maiolino +12 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the spectral energy distribution fitting (SED) code was used to detect Lyman-α emitters in the galaxy population and derive the physical properties of these galaxies.
Journal ArticleDOI
New image statistics for detecting disturbed galaxy morphologies at high redshift
Peter E. Freeman,Rafael Izbicki,Ann B. Lee,J. A. Newman,C. J. Conselice,Anton M. Koekemoer,Jennifer M. Lotz,Mark Mozena +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors introduce three statistics that enhance detection of disturbed morphologies at high redshift (z ∼ 2): the multimode (M), intensity (I) and deviation (D) statistics.
Journal ArticleDOI
The SCUBA-2 Cosmology Legacy Survey: the submillimetre properties of Lyman-break galaxies at z=3-5

Peacock,D. Rigopoulou,E. I. Robson,E. I. Robson,Douglas Scott,Jamie Stevens,P. van der Werf +31 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors measured the average 850 mu m flux density of the Lyman-break galaxy population at z approximate to 3, 4, and 5 with typical ultraviolet luminosities of L-1700 approximate to 10(29) erg s(-1) Hz(-1).
