2-blocks with abelian defect groups
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors give a classification of 2-blocks of quasi-simple groups with abelian defect groups and show that the entries of the Cartan matrices are bounded in terms of the defect.
Journal ArticleDOI
Associations of Mindfulness with Glucose Regulation and Diabetes.
Eric B. Loucks,Stephen E. Gilman,Willoughby B. Britton,Roee Gutman,Charles B. Eaton,Stephen L. Buka +5 more
TL;DR: Dispositional mindfulness may be associated with better glucose regulation, in part because of a lower likelihood of obesity and greater sense of control among participants with higher levels of mindfulness.
Journal ArticleDOI
Knee symptoms among adults at risk for accelerated knee osteoarthritis: data from the Osteoarthritis Initiative.
Julie E. Davis,Charles B. Eaton,Grace H. Lo,Bing Lu,Lori Lyn Price,Lori Lyn Price,Timothy E. McAlindon,Mary F. Barbe,Jeffrey B. Driban +8 more
TL;DR: Individuals who developed accelerated KOA were more likely to report greater difficulty with lying down, pain with straightening the knee fully, and pain walking than adults who developed common KOA.
Journal ArticleDOI
Change in Physical Activity and Sitting Time After Myocardial Infarction and Mortality Among Postmenopausal Women in the Women's Health Initiative‐Observational Study
Anna M. Gorczyca,Charles B. Eaton,Michael J. LaMonte,JoAnn E. Manson,Jeanne D. Johnston,Aurelian Bidulescu,Molly E. Waring,Todd M. Manini,Lisa W. Martin,Marcia L. Stefanick,Ka He,Andrea K. Chomistek +11 more
TL;DR: Meeting the recommended PA guidelines pre‐ and post‐MI may have a protective role against mortality in postmenopausal women.
Journal ArticleDOI
Association analysis of BMD-associated SNPs with knee osteoarthritis
Laura M. Yerges-Armstrong,Michelle S. Yau,Youfang Liu,Subha Krishnan,Jordan B. Renner,Charles B. Eaton,C. Kent Kwoh,Michael C. Nevitt,David Duggan,Braxton D. Mitchell,Joanne M. Jordan,Marc C. Hochberg,Rebecca D. Jackson +12 more
TL;DR: A meta‐analysis demonstrates that several genomewide association studies (GWAS)‐identified BMD SNPs are nominally associated with prevalent radiographic knee OA and further supports the hypothesis that BMD, or its determinants, may be a risk factor contributing to OA development.
