Epigenetic stem cell signature in cancer.

TL;DR: It is reported that stem cell Polycomb group targets are up to 12-fold more likely to have cancer-specific promoter DNA hypermethylation than non-targets, supporting a stem cell origin of cancer in which reversible gene repression is replaced by permanent silencing, locking the cell into a perpetual state of self-renewal and thereby predisposing to subsequent malignant transformation.
Journal ArticleDOI

ESGO/ESTRO/ESP guidelines for the management of patients with endometrial carcinoma.

TL;DR: A European consensus conference on endometrial carcinoma was held in 2014 to produce multi-disciplinary evidence-based guidelines on selected questions as mentioned in this paper, and the European Society of Gynaecological Oncology (ESGO), the European SocieTy for Radiotherapy and Oncologies (ESTRO), and the EPSP jointly decided to update these evidence-base guidelines and to cover new topics in order to improve the quality of care for women with endometrium carcinoma across Europe and worldwide.
Journal ArticleDOI

Circulating Tumor-Specific DNA: A Marker for Monitoring Efficacy of Adjuvant Therapy in Cancer Patients

TL;DR: RASSF1A methylation 1 year after primary surgery (and during adjuvant tamoxifen therapy) was an independent predictor of poor outcome, with a relative risk for relapse of 5.1 (1.3-19.8) and for death of 6.9 ( 1.9-25.9).
