Journal ArticleDOI

Asian Dust Events of April 1998

TL;DR: In this paper, two intense dust storms were generated over the Gobi desert by springtime low-pressure systems descending from the northwest, and the windblown dust was detected and its evolution followed by its yellow color on SeaWiFS satellite images, routine surface-based monitoring and through serendipitous observations.
Journal ArticleDOI

Basal organic phosphorus mineralization in soils under different farming systems

TL;DR: In this article, the authors applied a new approach to quantify basal soil organic P (Po) mineralization, based on 33PO4 isotopic dilution during 10 days of incubation, in soils differing in microbiological activity.
Journal ArticleDOI

A simplified high resolution MODIS aerosol retrieval algorithm (SARA) for use over mixed surfaces

TL;DR: In this article, a simplified aerosol optical depth (SARA) algorithm was proposed to estimate columnar atmospheric aerosol content over Hong Kong at high (500m) spatial resolution.
Journal ArticleDOI

Long-Term Efficiencies of Dust Suppressants to Reduce PM10 Emissions from Unpaved Roads.

TL;DR: Assessment of the long-term efficiencies of four dust suppressants to reduce the emission of PM10 from public unpaved roads found that suppressants that create surface conditions resistant to brittle failure are less prone to deterioration and more likely to increase long- term reduction efficiency for PM10 emissions on unpaved Roads.
