TL;DR: Add-on cannabidiol is efficacious for the treatment of patients with drop seizures associated with Lennox-Gastaut syndrome and is generally well tolerated.
Journal ArticleDOI
Microscopic-Observation Drug-Susceptibility Assay for the Diagnosis of TB
David Moore,Carlton A. Evans,Robert H. Gilman,Luz Caviedes,Jorge Coronel,Aldo Vivar,Eduardo García Sánchez,Yvette Piñedo,Juan Carlos Saravia,Cayo Salazar,Richard A. Oberhelman,Maria Graciela Hollm-Delgado,Doris LaChira,A. Roderick Escombe,A. Roderick Escombe,Jon S. Friedland +15 more
TL;DR: A single MODS culture of a sputum sample offers more rapid and sensitive detection of tuberculosis and multidrug-resistant tuberculosis than the existing gold-standard methods used.
Journal ArticleDOI
Natural Ventilation for the Prevention of Airborne Contagion
A. Roderick Escombe,A. Roderick Escombe,Clarissa Oeser,Robert H. Gilman,Marcos Ñavincopa,Eduardo Ticona,William Pan,Carlos R. Martinez,Jesús Chacaltana,Richard Rodriguez,David Moore,David Moore,Jon S. Friedland,Jon S. Friedland,Carlton A. Evans +14 more
TL;DR: Opening windows and doors maximises natural ventilation so that the risk of airborne contagion is much lower than with costly, maintenance-requiring mechanical ventilation systems.
Journal ArticleDOI

TL;DR: Genotypic predictions of the susceptibility of M. tuberculosis to first‐line drugs were found to be correlated with phenotypic susceptibility to these drugs.
Journal ArticleDOI
The impact of a police crackdown on a street drug scene: evidence from the street
TL;DR: It is concluded that police crackdowns are inappropriate responses to illicit drug problems; instead, approaches which incorporate and balance demand reduction, supply reduction and harm reduction principles should be followed.
