Hypothalamic gene expression in ω-3 PUFA-deficient male rats before, and following, development of hypertension
Denovan P. Begg,Denovan P. Begg,Denovan P. Begg,László G. Puskás,Klára Kitajka,Dalma Ménesi,Andrew M. Allen,Duo Li,Michael L. Mathai,Jian Rong Shi,Andrew J. Sinclair,Richard S. Weisinger +11 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that dietary ω-3 DEF causes changes both in the expression of key genes involved in central blood pressure regulation and in blood pressure, which may indicate that hypertension resulting from ω -3 DEF is mediated by the central adrenergic system.
Journal ArticleDOI
DHA prevents altered 5-HT1A, 5-HT2A, CB1 and GABAA receptor binding densities in the brain of male rats fed a high-saturated-fat diet
Yinghua Yu,Yinghua Yu,Yizhen Wu,Craig S Patch,Zhixiang Wu,Zhixiang Wu,Alexander M Szabo,Alexander M Szabo,Duo Li,Xu-Feng Huang +9 more
TL;DR: Insight is provided into the mechanism by which DHA supplementation ameliorates reduced cognitive function associated with an HF diet and that dietary DHA can attenuate such alterations.
Journal ArticleDOI
Integration of an interpretable machine learning algorithm to identify early life risk factors of childhood obesity among preterm infants: a prospective birth cohort
Yuanqing Fu,Yuanqing Fu,Wanglong Gou,Wensheng Hu,Yingying Mao,Yunyi Tian,Xinxiu Liang,Yuhong Guan,Tao Huang,Kelei Li,Xiaofei Guo,Huijuan Liu,Duo Li,Ju-Sheng Zheng,Ju-Sheng Zheng +14 more
TL;DR: The trajectory of BMI Z -score change within the first year of life is the most important predictor for childhood overweight/obesity among preterm infants.
Journal ArticleDOI
Changes of omega‐3 fatty acid content and lipid composition in canned tuna during 12‐month storage
TL;DR: In this article, the effect of storage time on the concentration and lipid and fatty acid compositions of canned tuna in brine was studied and the results showed that the concentrations of total polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs), total n-3 and n-6 PUFA were significantly stepwise decreased with increased storage time.
Journal ArticleDOI
Contribution of diet to gut microbiota and related host cardiometabolic health: diet-gut interaction in human health
TL;DR: It is shown that high-fat, low-carbohydrate diet was associated with unfavorable changes in gut microbiota, fecal microbial metabolites, and plasma proinflammatory factors in healthy young adults in a 6-month randomized controlled-feeding trial.
