INNODIA Master Protocol for the evaluation of investigational medicinal products in children, adolescents and adults with newly diagnosed type 1 diabetes

David B. Dunger, +132 more
- 18 May 2022 -
TL;DR: In this article , the authors developed a Master Protocol, based on the "backbone" of the INNODIA natural history study, which could improve the delivery of phase 2 studies exploring the use of single or combinations of Investigational Medicinal Products (IMPs), designed to prevent or reverse declines in beta-cell function in individuals with newly diagnosed type 1 diabetes.
Journal ArticleDOI

Association of common variants in NPPA and NPPB with blood pressure does not translate into kidney damage in a general population study.

TL;DR: No haplotype, including GCG, the one combining the three rare alleles, was associated with incident patients of either microalbuminuria or glomerular filtration rate, consistent with a lack of effect on clinical renal outcomes, and showed that even replicated and biologically plausible genetic association studies based on surrogate markers do not easily translate into clinically meaningful prognosis.
Journal ArticleDOI

Intensifying glycaemic control with insulin reduces adiponectin and its HMW isoform moderately in type 2, but not in type 1, diabetes

TL;DR: In this article, the impact of diabetes control on adiponectin (ADPN) levels was evaluated in 15 T1D and 48 T2D patients with HbA 1c greater than 10% at hospitalization for uncontrolled diabetes.
