Musical Expertise Increases Top–Down Modulation Over Hippocampal Activation during Familiarity Decisions

TL;DR: Data show that musical expertise modulates the online recruitment of hippocampal response to serve semantic memory retrieval of familiar melodies, and the reconfiguration of memory network dynamics following musical training could constitute a promising framework to understand its ability to preserve brain functions.
Journal Article

Assessing Prospective Memory in Young Healthy Adults using VirtualReality

TL;DR: Gonneaud et al. as mentioned in this paper used VR for the assessment of Probabilistic Memory (PM) and found that VR is a very relevant tool for the study of complex cognitive functions such as PM.

Iconography : Impaired decision-making and brain shrinkage in alcoholism

TL;DR: Investigation of relationships between brain shrinkage and decision-making impairments in alcohol-dependent individuals early in abstinence using voxel-based morphometry revealed links between high GM volume in the ventromedial prefrontal cortex, dorsal anterior cingulate cortex and right hippocampal formation, and high decision- making scores.
Journal ArticleDOI

Sensitive biomarkers of alcoholism's effect on brain macrostructure: similarities and differences between France and the United States.

TL;DR: In ALC from France but not the U.S., CSF and white matter volumes correlated with lifetime alcohol consumption, alcoholism duration, and length of sobriety, and MRI provided a sensitive in vivo biomarker of white matter volume shrinkage in KS only, suggesting a specific process sensitive to mechanisms contributing to Wernicke's encephalopathy.
Journal ArticleDOI

De la mémoire épisodique à la mémoire autobiographique : approche développementale

TL;DR: In this article, the authors propose to relier les concepts of memoire episodique and de memoire autobiographique and decrire l'evolution of leurs capacites au cours de l'enfance.
