Transient global amnesia: implicit/explicit memory dissociation and PET assessment of brain perfusion and oxygen metabolism in the acute stage
Francis Eustache,B. Desgranges,M.C. Petit-Taboué,V. de la Sayette,V Piot,C Sablé,Gilles Marchal,Jean-Claude Baron +7 more
TL;DR: The finding of a left prefrontal hypometabolism in the face of impaired episodic memory and altered verbal fluency would fit present day concepts from PET activation studies about the role of this area in episodic and semantic memory encoding/retrieval.
Journal ArticleDOI
A PET study of the functional neuroanatomy of writing impairment in Alzheimer's disease. The role of the left supramarginal and left angular gyri.
Marie-José Penniello,J Lambert,Francis Eustache,Marie Christine Petit-Taboué,Louisa Barré,Fausto Viader,Pierre Morin,B Lechevalier,Jean-Claude Baron +8 more
TL;DR: Testing whether dissociations in the language domain in Alzheimer's disease can be exploited with PET to assess the neural basis of cognition found a highly significant positive correlation between phonological score:lexical score neuropsychological ratios and corresponding supramarginal gyrus:angular gyrus metabolic ratios.
Journal ArticleDOI
Regional differences in waiting time to pregnancy among fertile couples from four European cities
Tina Kold Jensen,Rémy Slama,Béatrice Ducot,J. Suominen,Elizabeth H.H. Cawood,Anne-Grethe Andersen,Francis Eustache,S. Irvine,S. Auger,Pierre Jouannet,Matti Vierula,Niels Jørgensen,Jorma Toppari,N E Skakkebaek,Niels Keiding,Alfred Spira +15 more
TL;DR: The observed geographical differences in TTP remain unexplained and were not due to differences in semen quality, but may be caused by varying exposures to environmental factors or psychological distress.
Journal ArticleDOI
Morphological brain plasticity induced by musical expertise is accompanied by modulation of functional connectivity at rest.
Baptiste Fauvel,Mathilde Groussard,Gaël Chételat,Marine Fouquet,Brigitte Landeau,Francis Eustache,Béatrice Desgranges,Hervé Platel +7 more
TL;DR: Findings from an anatomical magnetic resonance imaging and resting-state functional MRI study on musical practice-related gray matter increases in brain regions are interpreted as the consequence of repeated collaborative use in general networks supporting some of the memory, perceptual-motor and emotional features of musical practice.
Journal ArticleDOI
Autonoetic consciousness in Alzheimer's disease: Neuropsychological and PET findings using an episodic learning and recognition task
Géraldine Rauchs,Pascale Piolino,Pascale Piolino,Florence Mézenge,Brigitte Landeau,C. Lalevée,Alice Pélerin,Fausto Viader,Vincent de la Sayette,Francis Eustache,Béatrice Desgranges +10 more
TL;DR: The data show that recollection is impaired in AD and recognition is more based on a feeling of familiarity than in controls, and indicate that the impairment of episodic memory is mainly subserved by the dysfunction of frontal areas and of the hippocampal region.
