Journal ArticleDOI
Dissociating thalamic alterations in alcohol use disorder defines specificity of Korsakoff's syndrome
Shailendra Segobin,Alice Laniepce,Ludivine Ritz,Coralie Lannuzel,Céline Boudehent,Nicolas Cabé,Laurent Urso,François Vabret,Francis Eustache,Hélène Beaunieux,Anne-Lise Pitel +10 more
TL;DR: The thalamus, a relay organ consisting of several nuclei, is shared between the frontocerebellar circuit and the Papez circuit, both particularly affected in alcohol use disorder, and the fibre pathways connecting these brain regions and their respective thalamic nuclei have been validated.
Journal ArticleDOI
Metabolic and structural connectivity within the default mode network relates to working memory performance in young healthy adults.
Igor Yakushev,Gaël Chételat,Florian U. Fischer,Brigitte Landeau,Christine Bastin,Armin Scheurich,Audrey Perrotin,Mohamed Ali Bahri,Alexander Drzezga,Alexander Drzezga,Francis Eustache,Mathias Schreckenberger,Andreas Fellgiebel,Eric Salmon +13 more
TL;DR: Verbal WM performance is related to metabolic and structural connectivity within the DMN in young healthy adults, and metabolic connectivity as quantified with FDG-PET might be a sensitive marker of the normal variability in some cognitive functions.
Journal ArticleDOI
The time course of repetition effects for familiar faces and objects: An ERP study
Cécile Guillaume,Bérengère Guillery-Girard,Laurence Chaby,Karine Lebreton,Laurent Hugueville,Francis Eustache,Nicole Fiori +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, EEG was recorded while 12 healthy young subjects performed a long-term perceptual repetition priming task using faces and object drawings, and the results showed that the implicit and explicit memory processes elicited by a perceptual repetition task are modulated by the type of item which is repeated.
Journal ArticleDOI
Working memory impairment in pilots exposed to acute hypobaric hypoxia.
Carine Malle,Peggy Quinette,Mickaël Laisney,Cyprien Bourrilhon,Jacqueline Boissin,Béatrice Desgranges,Francis Eustache,Christophe Piérard +7 more
TL;DR: One major finding is that hypoxia highly increased the mean error frequency rate, and WM performance decreased linearly with hypoxemia, but SpO2 was weakly predictive of PASAT performance and vice versa.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Hippocampus Remains Activated over the Long Term for the Retrieval of Truly Episodic Memories
Caroline Harand,Françoise Bertran,Renaud La Joie,Brigitte Landeau,Florence Mézenge,Béatrice Desgranges,Philippe Peigneux,Francis Eustache,Géraldine Rauchs +8 more
TL;DR: The data indicate maintenance and strengthening of hippocampal and cortico-cortical connections in the consolidation and retrieval of episodic memories over time, in line with the Multiple Trace theory.
