A fast-Fourier-transform method of topography and interferometry is proposed. By computer processing of a noncontour type of fringe pattern, automatic discrimination is achieved between elevation and depression of the object or wave-front form, which has not been possible by the fringe-contour-generation techniques. The method has advantages over moire topography and conventional fringe-contour interferometry in both accuracy and sensitivity. Unlike fringe-scanning techniques, the method is easy to apply because it uses no moving components.

Robust Switching Rule Design for Boost Converters with Uncertain Parameters and Disturbances

This paper investigates the problems of delay-dependent stability analysis and memory ℋ∞ controller synthesis for a class of continuous-time Markovian jump linear systems (MJLSs) via an input-output (IO) approach. The generality lies in that the exactly known, partially unknown and uncertain transition rates are simultaneously incorporated into the defective mode information. It is first shown that the original system with time-varying delay can be reformulated by a new IO model through a process of two-term approximation and the stability problem of the original system can be transformed into the scaled small gain (SSG) problem of the IO model. Then, based on a Markovian Lyapunov-Krasovskii formulation of SSG condition together with some convexification techniques, the stability analysis and state-feedbackℋ∞ controller synthesis conditions for the underlying MJLSs are formulated in terms of linear matrix inequalities. Simulation studies are provided to illustrate the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed analysis and design methods.

Memory ℋ ∞ control for continuous-time Markovian jump systems with time-varying delay and defective mode information

This paper investigates the stability analysis of cubature Kalman filter (CKF) for nonlinear systems with linear measurement. The certain conditions to ensure that the estimation error of CKF remains bounded are proved. Then, the effect of process noise covariance is investigated and an adaptive process noise covariance is proposed to deal with large estimation error. Accordingly, a modified CKF (MCKF) is developed to enhance the stability and accuracy of state estimation. The performance of the MCKF is compared to the CKF by two case studies. Simulation results demonstrate that the large estimation error may lead to instability of CKF while the MCKF is successfully able to estimate the states.

Convergence analysis of cubature Kalman filter

This paper studies the problem of observer-based stabilization of stochastic nonlinear systems with limited communication. A communication channel exists between the output of the plant and the input of the dynamic controller, which is considered network-induced delays, data packet dropouts, and measurement quantization. A new stability criterion is derived for the stochastic nonlinear system by using the Lyapunov functional approach. Based on this, the design procedure of observer-based controller is presented, which ensures asymptotic stability in the meansquare of the closed-loop system. Finally, an illustrative example is given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed design techniques.
