Journal Article

Contrasting renal effects of different antihypertensive agents in hypertensive rats with bilaterally constricted renal arteries.

TL;DR: In the presence of bilateral renal artery stenosis and sodium deprivation, systemic blood pressure normalization after the blockade of the RAS may be accompanied by acute renal failure, which may be explained partially by poststenotic renal hypotension, but it may also reflect a reduction of the GFR because of the blockade
Journal ArticleDOI

Lack of centrioles and primary cilia in STIL(-/-) mouse embryos.

TL;DR: It is described, by focused ion beam scanning electron microscopy, that STIL−/− mouse embryos do not contain centrioles or primary cilia, suggesting that these organelles are not essential for mammalian development until mid gestation, and it is shown that the lack ofPrimary cilia explains the absence of Hedgehog signaling in STIL+/− cells.
Journal ArticleDOI

Vasopeptidase Inhibition Restores Renovascular Endothelial Dysfunction in Salt-Induced Hypertension

TL;DR: O restored renovascular endothelial function and prevented vascular hypertrophy in salt-induced hypertension and therefore may advance as a beneficial approach in the therapy of various forms of hypertension.
Journal ArticleDOI

Reproducibility of the Oxford classification of immunoglobulin A nephropathy, impact of biopsy scoring on treatment allocation and clinical relevance of disagreements: evidence from the VALidation of IGA study cohort.

TL;DR: Since the decision to offer immunosuppressive therapy in this cohort was intimately associated with the MEST-C score, this study indicates a need for more detailed guidance for pathologists in the scoring of IgAN biopsies.
