Journal ArticleDOI

Loss of matrix metalloproteinase-13 attenuates murine radiation-induced pulmonary fibrosis.

TL;DR: It is found that MMP13 deficient mice developed less pulmonary fibrosis than their wildtype counterparts, showed attenuated acute pulmonary inflammation (days after irradiation), and a reduction of inflammation during the later fibrogenic phase (5-6 months after irradation).
Journal ArticleDOI

Met-RANTES reduces endothelial progenitor cell homing to activated (glomerular) endothelium in vitro and in vivo

TL;DR: It is hypothesized that RANTES does not only promote the influx and activation of inflammatory leukocytes but also mediates glomerular microvascular repair by stimulating the homing of bone marrow (BM)-derived endothelial progenitor cells.
Journal ArticleDOI

Cell Biological and Biochemical Characterization of Drebrin Complexes in Mesangial Cells and Podocytes of Renal Glomeruli

TL;DR: The findings confirm and extend the hypothesis that drebrin is involved in the regulation of actin dynamics also outside the nervous system and the dynamics of mesangial cells and foot processes in podocytes.
Journal ArticleDOI

The renal microenvironment modifies dendritic cell phenotype

TL;DR: The medullary environment inhibits an alloimmune response by modulating the phenotype and function of dendritic cells by inhibiting the interstitial osmotic gradient andGene expression profiles of both medullaries and bone marrow-derived d endritic cells matured in hyperosmolar medium had an overlap with the macrophage M2 signature.
Journal ArticleDOI

Up-Regulation of the Human Serum and Glucocorticoid-Dependent Kinase 1 in Glomerulonephritis

TL;DR: In conclusion, glomerulonephritis leads to glomerular and in some cases to epithelial up-regulation of hSGK1 transcription, a serine/threonine kinase participating in the regulation of Na+ transport.
