Journal ArticleDOI
Double-stranded RNA of intestinal commensal but not pathogenic bacteria triggers production of protective interferon-β.
Tadaomi Kawashima,Akemi Kosaka,Huimin Yan,Zijin Guo,Ryosuke Uchiyama,Ryutaro Fukui,Daisuke Kaneko,Yutaro Kumagai,Dong-Ju You,Joaquim Carreras,Satoshi Uematsu,Myoung Ho Jang,Myoung Ho Jang,Osamu Takeuchi,Osamu Takeuchi,Tsuneyasu Kaisho,Shizuo Akira,Kensuke Miyake,Hiroko Tsutsui,Takashi Saito,Ikuko Nishimura,Noriko M. Tsuji +21 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that dsRNA in commensal bacteria contributes to anti-inflammatory and protective immune responses and is identified as a discriminatory sensor to small intestinal commensals by using Toll-like receptor 3.
Journal ArticleDOI
Targeting C-Type Lectin Receptors for Cancer Immunity
Huimin Yan,Tomomori Kamiya,Tomomori Kamiya,Papawee Suabjakyong,Papawee Suabjakyong,Noriko M. Tsuji +5 more
TL;DR: This work aims to overview the current knowledge of CLRs signaling and the application of their ligands on tumor-associating immune response and suggests agonists or antagonists of CLR signaling are potential therapeutic reagents for cancer immunotherapy.
Journal ArticleDOI
Lactococcus lactis subsp. cremoris FC triggers IFN-γ production from NK and T cells via IL-12 and IL-18
Akemi Kosaka,Huimin Yan,Satoshi Ohashi,Yayoi Gotoh,Ami Sato,Hiroko Tsutsui,Tsuneyasu Kaisho,Toshiya Toda,Noriko M. Tsuji +8 more
TL;DR: The findings suggest that this LAB strain is an efficient activator of protective cellular immunity via stimulation of myeloid cells including DCs, which was completely inhibited by combination of neutralizing anti-IL-12 and anti- IL-18 mAbs.
Journal ArticleDOI
The role of C-type lectin receptors in immune homeostasis.
TL;DR: The major CLRs involved in production of IL-10 by immune-related cells and functional maturation of regulatory T cells are described and the potential role of CLRs signaling in regulating intestinal immune-homeostasis and inflammation is discussed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Kjellmaniella crassifolia Miyabe (Gagome) Extract Modulates Intestinal and Systemic Immune Responses
Huimin Yan,Shigeru Kakuta,Nishihara Masao,Masahito Sugi,Yoshiyuki Adachi,Naohito Ohno,Yoichiro Iwakura,Noriko M. Tsuji +7 more
TL;DR: Gagome is an effective immunomodulator and a potent adjuvant for both the intestinal and the systemic immune response and is largely dependent on the dectin-1 pathway despite its composite constituents.
