Journal ArticleDOI

Convective and diffusive energetic particle losses induced by shear Alfvén waves in the ASDEX upgrade tokamak.

TL;DR: In this article, phase-space characterization of convective and diffusive energetic particle losses induced by shear Alfven waves in a magnetically confined fusion plasma is presented, where a single toroidal Alfven eigenmodes (TAE) and Alfven cascades (AC) eject resonant fast ions in a convective process, leading to a large fast ion diffusion and loss.
Journal ArticleDOI

Fast-ion transport induced by Alfven eigenmodes in the ASDEX Upgrade tokamak

TL;DR: In this article, a comprehensive suite of diagnostics has allowed detailed measurements of the Alfven eigenmode (AE) spatial structure and subsequent fast-ion transport in the ASDEX upgrade (AUG) tokamak.
