VEGA: Visible spEctroGraph and polArimeter for the CHARA array: principle and performance
Denis Mourard,Jean-Michel Clausse,A. Marcotto,Karine Perraut,I. Tallon-Bosc,Ph. Berio,A. Blazit,D. Bonneau,S. Bosio,Yves Bresson,Olivier Chesneau,O. Delaa,François Hénault,Y. Hughes,Stephane Lagarde,G. Merlin,A. Roussel,Alain Spang,Ph. Stee,M. Tallon,P. Antonelli,R. Foy,Pierre Kervella,Romain Petrov,Éric Thiébaut,Farrokh Vakili,Harold A. McAlister,T. ten Brummelaar,J. Sturmann,Laszlo Sturmann,Nils H. Turner,Chris Farrington,P. J. Goldfinger +32 more
TL;DR: The spectro-polarimeter VEGA has been installed and successfully tested on the CHARA Array as mentioned in this paper, and the results depend on the observing conditions (seeing, spectral resolution, etc.).
Journal ArticleDOI
The expanding fireball of Nova Delphini 2013
Gail Schaefer,T. ten Brummelaar,D. R. Gies,Chris Farrington,Brian Kloppenborg,Olivier Chesneau,John D. Monnier,S. T. Ridgway,Nicholas J. Scott,I. Tallon-Bosc,I. Tallon-Bosc,H. A. McAlister,Tabetha S. Boyajian,Vicente Maestro,Denis Mourard,Anthony Meilland,Nicolas Nardetto,Ph. Stee,Judit Sturmann,Norman Vargas,F. Baron,Michael J. Ireland,Ellyn K. Baines,Xiao Che,Jeremy Jones,Noel D. Richardson,Rachael M. Roettenbacher,Laszlo Sturmann,Nils H. Turner,Peter G. Tuthill,G. T. van Belle,K. von Braun,R. T. Zavala,Dipankar P. K. Banerjee,N. M. Ashok,Vishal Joshi,Juliette C. Becker,Juliette C. Becker,Philip S. Muirhead +38 more
TL;DR: Near-infrared interferometric measurements of the angular size of Nova Delphini 2013 are reported, suggesting a prolate or bipolar structure that develops as early as the second day of the explosion, and a geometric distance to the nova of 4.54 ± 0.59 kiloparsecs from the Sun.
Journal ArticleDOI
Improving the surface brightness-color relation for early-type stars using optical interferometry
M. Challouf,M. Challouf,Nicolas Nardetto,Denis Mourard,Dariusz Graczyk,H. Aroui,Olivier Chesneau,O. Delaa,Grzegorz Pietrzyński,Grzegorz Pietrzyński,Wolfgang Gieren,Roxanne Ligi,Anthony Meilland,Karine Perraut,Karine Perraut,I. Tallon-Bosc,I. Tallon-Bosc,Harold A. McAlister,T. ten Brummelaar,Judit Sturmann,Laszlo Sturmann,Nils H. Turner,Chris Farrington,Norm Vargas,Nicholas J. Scott +24 more
TL;DR: In this article, the surface brightness-color relation (SBC) was improved for early-type stars in the −1 ≤ V − K ≤ 0 color domain, using optical interferometry.
Journal ArticleDOI
The fundamental parameters of the roAp star γ Equulei
Karine Perraut,I. M. Brandão,Denis Mourard,M. S. Cunha,Ph. Berio,D. Bonneau,Olivier Chesneau,Jean-Michel Clausse,O. Delaa,A. Marcotto,A. Roussel,Alain Spang,Ph. Stee,I. Tallon-Bosc,Harold A. McAlister,T. ten Brummelaar,J. Sturmann,L. Sturmann,Neal J. Turner,Chris Farrington,P. J. Goldfinger +20 more
TL;DR: In this article, the angular diameter of the rapidly oscillating Ap star, γ Equ, and its fundamental parameters were derived from this value. But, the authors did not consider the multiple nature of the system.
Journal ArticleDOI
A resolved, au-scale gas disk around the B[e] star HD 50138
L. E. Ellerbroek,Myriam Benisty,Myriam Benisty,Stefan Kraus,Karine Perraut,Karine Perraut,Jacques Kluska,Jacques Kluska,J.-B. Le Bouquin,J.-B. Le Bouquin,M. Borges Fernandes,A. Domiciano de Souza,K. M. Maaskant,K. M. Maaskant,Lex Kaper,Frank Tramper,Denis Mourard,I. Tallon-Bosc,I. Tallon-Bosc,T. ten Brummelaar,Michael L. Sitko,Michael L. Sitko,David K. Lynch,Ray W. Russell +23 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors presented the first high spatial and spectral resolution interferometric observations of the Brγ line of HD 50138, obtained with VLTI/AMBER, and compared the data with a geometric model of a thin Keplerian disk and a spherical halo on top of a Gaussian continuum.
