Probing Cold Dense Nuclear Matter

R. Subedi, +69 more
- 13 Jun 2008 -
TL;DR: Scattering experiments show that in carbon-12 the neutron-proton pairs are nearly 20 times as prevalent as proton- Proton pairs and, by inference, neutron-neutron pairs, which has implications for understanding cold dense nuclear systems such as neutron stars.
Journal ArticleDOI

Single spin asymmetries in charged kaon production from semi-inclusive deep inelastic scattering on a transversely polarized He 3 target

Yuxiang Zhao, +129 more
TL;DR: In this article, the first measurement of target single spin asymmetries in the semi-inclusive ^3He(e,e^′π^±)X reaction on a transversely polarized target was reported.
Journal ArticleDOI

Final analysis of proton form factor ratio data at Q(2)=4.0, 4.8, and 5.6 GeV2

Andrew Puckett, +78 more
- 11 Apr 2012 -
TL;DR: In particular, the polarization transfer results have exposed the limits of applicability of the one-photon exchange approximation and highlighted the role of quark orbital angular momentum in the nucleon structure.
Journal ArticleDOI

Scaling tests of the cross section for deeply virtual Compton scattering.

TL;DR: The first measurements of the e[over -->]p-->epgamma cross section in the deeply virtual Compton scattering (DVCS) regime and the valence quark region are presented, proving that generalized parton distributions (GPDs) are accessible to experiment at moderate Q(2), and the first model-independent measurement of linear combinations of GPDs and GPD integrals up to the twist-3 approximation.
