TL;DR: The genome-wide characteristics of rare (<1% frequency) copy number variation in ASD are analysed using dense genotyping arrays to reveal many new genetic and functional targets in ASD that may lead to final connected pathways.
Journal ArticleDOI
A large fraction of extragenic RNA pol II transcription sites overlap enhancers.
Francesca De Santa,Iros Barozzi,Flore Mietton,Serena Ghisletti,Sara Polletti,Betsabeh Khoramian Tusi,Heiko Muller,Jiannis Ragoussis,Chia-Lin Wei,Gioacchino Natoli +9 more
TL;DR: A substantial fraction of extragenic Pol II transcription sites coincides with transcriptional enhancers, which may be relevant for functional annotation of mammalian genomes.
Journal ArticleDOI
High-resolution genome-wide mapping of HIF-binding sites by ChIP-seq
Johannes Schödel,Spyros Oikonomopoulos,Jiannis Ragoussis,Christopher W. Pugh,Peter J. Ratcliffe,David R. Mole +5 more
TL;DR: Using chromatin immunoprecipitation linked to high throughput sequencing, HIF-binding sites across the genome are identified, indicating that these sites operate over long genomic intervals, and epigenetic regulation of chromatin may have an important role in defining the response to hypoxia.
Journal ArticleDOI
hsa-miR-210 Is Induced by Hypoxia and Is an Independent Prognostic Factor in Breast Cancer
Carme Camps,Francesca M. Buffa,Stefano Colella,John Moore,Christos Sotiriou,Helen Sheldon,Adrian L. Harris,Jonathan M. Gleadle,Jiannis Ragoussis +8 more
TL;DR: It is shown that hsa-miR-210 overexpression is induced by hypoxia in a HIF-1α– and VHL-dependent fashion and its expression levels in breast cancer samples are an independent prognostic factor.
