Journal ArticleDOI

A replication-incompetent influenza virus bearing the HN glycoprotein of human parainfluenza virus as a bivalent vaccine.

TL;DR: Results indicate that PB2-KO virus expressing the HN of HPIV3 has the potential to be a novel bivalent vaccine against influenza and human parainfluenza viruses.
Journal ArticleDOI

The Microminipig as an Animal Model for Influenza A Virus Infection

TL;DR: The distribution of influenza virus receptors in the respiratory tract of the microminipig was similar to that of the pig, and the sensitivity of micromInipigs to influenza A viruses was the same as that of miniature pigs, suggesting that microm inipigs represent a novel animal model for influenza A virus infection.
Journal ArticleDOI

Identification of the porcine cytomegalovirus major capsid protein gene.

TL;DR: A major capsid protein (MCP) gene homologue of porcine cytomegalovirus (PCMV) was identified and established polymerase chain reaction (PCR) protocols using primers corresponding to MCP gene sequences for detection of PCMV infection.
Journal ArticleDOI

Serological evidence of infection of dogs with human influenza viruses in Japan

TL;DR: Recent infections of racing and pet dogs with H3N8 virus of equine origin in the USA after 2004 and retrospectively in the UK in 2002, as well as with highly pathogenic H5N1 avian virus in Thailand in 2004, revealed that dogs are susceptible to influenza A viruses.
