Journal ArticleDOI
Gradients of monoamine metabolites and cortisol in cerebrospinal fluid of psychiatric patients and healthy controls.
Leif Bertilsson,Marie Åsberg,Olle Lantto,Gian-Paolo Scalia-Tomba,L. Träskman‐Bendz,Gunnel Tybring +5 more
TL;DR: There were pronounced concentration gradients for both 5-hydroxyindoleacetic acid and homovanillic acid, and in psychiatric patients there was a slight, but statistically significant concentration gradient for 3-methoxy-4-hydroxyphenylglycol (unconjugated as well as conjugated).
Journal ArticleDOI
CYP3A induction and inhibition by different antiretroviral regimens reflected by changes in plasma 4β-hydroxycholesterol levels
Filip Josephson,Leif Bertilsson,Ylva Böttiger,Leo Flamholc,Magnus Gisslén,Vidar Ormaasen,Anders Sönnerborg,Ulf Diczfalusy +7 more
TL;DR: Changes in plasma 4β-hydroxycholesterol following the initiation of efavirenz- or atazanavir/ritonavir-based antiretroviral therapy reflected the respective net increase and decrease of CYP3A activity of these regimens.
Journal ArticleDOI
Active hydroxymetabolites of antidepressants. Emphasis on E-10-hydroxy-nortriptyline
Conny Nordin,Leif Bertilsson +1 more
TL;DR: During treatment with nortriptyline, hydroxymetabolites exert, at least in some patients, major effects on brain noradrenaline neurons, which might contribute to biochemical and clinical effects during treatment with antidepressants.
Journal ArticleDOI
Individualized medicine - implementation of pharmacogenetic diagnostics in antidepressant drug treatment of major depressive disorders.
TL;DR: A pharmacogenomic approach to individualize antidepressant drug treatment is recommended to be based on several levels: identifying and validating the candidate genes involved in drug-response; providing therapeutic guidelines; and developing a pharmacogenetic test-system for bedside-genotyping.
Journal ArticleDOI
Disassociation between debrisoquine hydroxylation phenotype and genotype among chinese
Q. Y. Yue,Leif Bertilsson,M. L. Dahl-Puustinen,Juliette Säwe,Folke Sjöqvist,I. Johansson,Magnus Ingelman-Sundberg +6 more
TL;DR: 1. Trophoblast cells in maternal blood from pregnant women and the detection and isolation using the fluorescence-activated cell sorter (FACS).
